The BV Land High School Rodeo Scholarship
Background
BV Land Consulting Ltd. (BV Land) has long been a proud supporter of the rodeo associations of Western Canada. Whether through professional and private sponsorships, or simply subsidizing specific rodeo events by assisting with entry fees and/or equipment, we are honored to aid young competitors in their participation and success in high school rodeo.
BV Land is excited to announce the creation of the BV Land High School Rodeo Scholarship. This is an academic scholarship offered to all Grade 12 students in Northeastern British Columbia intending to attend a post-secondary institution. This includes the communities of Fort. St John, Dawson Creek, Pouce Coupe, Rolla, Farmington, Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Hudson Hope, Ft. Nelson, Wonowon and those points in-between.
Scope
The solitary successful applicant will be entitled to a $2,000 scholarship; to be used at the post-secondary institute of their choice.
Criteria
The BV Land High School Rodeo Scholarship is intended to offer financial support to High School Rodeo participants and competitors in their post-secondary education. As such, all applicants must meet certain criteria before being considered eligible for the scholarship. The criteria are as follows:
1. Resident of Northeastern BC
2. Member of the High School Rodeo Circuit
3. Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA
All supporting documentation of the criteria is to be submitted with the application requirements.
Application Requirements
All applicants must submit an essay, no shorter than 750 words. The essay will outline to the committee that you understand the meaning and value of sportsmanship and all that it encompasses. Document your personal experience(s) as well as a time you received recognition for sportsmanlike behaviour.
